   Mumbai:

The Bombay high court on Wednesday dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by noted Gandhian Anna Hazare, who had accused the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) of illegally releasing transfer of development rights (TDR) worth over Rs 250 crore to four builders in the city.

Chief Justice C K Thakker and Justice S A Bobde held that there was nothing objectionable, arbitrary or illegal about the SRA’s decision to grant TDR to Dineshshaw Trapinex Building Private Limited, Sumer Corporation, Sai Developers and Mukon Constructions.

The TDR was granted because the developers are executing different slum rehabilitation projects in Anik (near RCF), Chandivli, Dharavi and Dahisar to build 12,000 tenements for project-affected persons, including slum dwellers evicted from Sanjay Gandhi National Park .
